BEMIDJI -- Experience on Lake Bemidji proved valuable Saturday with a tricky wind stumping a lot of nonlocal anglers at the Kraus-Anderson Walleye Classic.
The winning duo of Lauren Ras of Bemidji and Paul Kuhn of St. Cloud turned in a weight of 19.88 pounds, more than 2 pounds more than the second-place weight.
“Fifteen straight years, never a repeat winner,” said Tracy Pogue, tournament director. “This year is no different. Lauren and Paul really pulled it off. I saw that bag of fish at about 3:30 p.m. and I knew they won and it was really hard to keep it a secret.”
