Community meeting Wednesday on sex offender moving to rural Puposky

BEMIDJI—A community notification meeting will be held Wednesday in Puposky regarding a Level III predatory sex offender moving to the area.

Offender Jeffrey Ballek has served his sentence and is not wanted by law enforcement, a release from the Beltrami County Sheriff's Office said.

The nature of Ballek's crime(s) that prompted his Level 3 predatory offender listing was not released by authorities. All sex offenders in Minnesota are assigned a level, one, two or three, upon release from custody. Level III sex offenders are considered to be those with the highest risk to reoffend.
