AREA BASEBALL: Blackduck, Bagley advance in Section 8A

BLACKDUCK — The top-seeded Blackduck High School baseball team beat Laporte 9-1 Tuesday to advance to the winners bracket of the Sub-Section 8A East tournament.

Laporte earned the right to play Blackduck after defeating Red Lake 6-5 in the game prior to the Drakes’ victory.

Blackduck will take on Northland Remer, the No. 4 seed in the East, after the Eagles took care of Lake of the Woods 10-8 on Tuesday.

The two teams will play at 10 a.m. Thursday at Bemidji State’s Security Insurance Field.
