Lillian Marie Reese, age 71, of Onigum, passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at the Golden Living Center in Walker with her family by her side. She was born on June 16, 1943, in Cass Lake, the daughter of Thomas and Minnie (Gotchie) Applebee.
Lillian loved being around her family, especially her grandchildren. She was an honest, confident woman who you could always count on. Lillian was always willing to give to others if she had it. She not only raised her own children, but she also influenced a lot of other children throughout her years. Lillian also loved playing Yahtzee, gambling, bowling, and going on pontoon rides. She also had a passion for wolves and collecting wolf memorabilia. When she was raising her children and others; Lillian had a tough, but fair shell that helped her get through life. Later on, you could really see her kind soul shining through and feel her true gentleness.
The family that Lillian joins again are her parents; Thomas and Minnie, her husband; Sam, one son; Joseph Kraskey, brothers; Thomas, Walter and Gilbert Applebee, Sr., and a grandson; Jeremee Kraskey.
Those she leaves behind to cherish her memory include her children; Crystal (Patrick) Estey of Cass Lake, Wendy (John) Whitebird of Onigum, Yvette (Vernon) Kraskey of Minneapolis, James (Ronda) Wilson III, of Cass Lake, Sam (Mardelle) Reese of Onigum, step children; Rina (Bud) Fonder of Minneapolis, Rhonda Reese of Minneapolis, Roxanne Monroe of Onigum, and Ricki Reese of Minneapolis, 30 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
A wake service for Lillian will begin at 5:00 p.m., Monday, May 25, 2015 and continue until the 11:00 a.m. service on Tuesday, May 26, all at the Onigum Community Center. Rev. Mark R.
