Cheyenne River Reservation Roadways Impacted by Recent Rains

EAGLE BUTTE, S.D. – (DRG News) Motorists traveling on the Cheyenne River Indian Reservation should note that rainy weather the past few days has resulted in at least one road closure. CRST Emergency Response Coordinator Harold Tiger says BIA Route 7, which was recently closed, remains shut down today because a bridge over Virgin Creek is underwater north of the Promise community. Tiger also says water that was running over the Armstrong County Road is subsiding, but the road surface remains in bad shape and there is water in ditches along the roadway. He advises drivers using Armstrong County Road to proceed with caution.
