Nolan And Walz Should Be Ashamed of Their Votes For The Death Tax

SAINT PAUL, Minn. – Today, Americans for Prosperity Minnesota reacted with disappointment in reaction to Rep. Tim Walz (MN-01) and Rep. Rick Nolan’s (MN-08) votes against the Death Tax Repeal Act of 2015. AFP Minnesota has been heavily involved in the fight against the death tax, which is a central plank to its Reform America 2015 agenda announced in January.

Americans for Prosperity Minnesota State Director John Cooney released the following statement:

“Tim Walz and Rick Nolan should be ashamed of their votes for the death tax. There’s no way around it: the death tax is the most immoral part of the U.S. Tax Code. No government should be able to swoop in after loved ones die and take away nearly half the savings that families have spent their lifetimes building up for their children and grandchildren. Today, their votes were a vote against the lifelong work of Minnesotans hoping to pass their successes on to future generations. AFP Minnesota will be engaging our citizens and grassroots activists to be sure there are held accountable.”
