Friends of Sanford Health awarded 10 scholarships to area students pursuing a degree in health care

BEMIDJI, Minn. - Friends of Sanford Health in Bemidji awarded 10, $1,500 scholarships to area students pursuing careers in a health-related field. Funds for the scholarships are from profits of the Sanford Bemidji Medical Center Gift Shop. The 2015 recipients include:

Marilyn Anderson, an RN at Sanford Bagley and a graduate of Blackduck High School, is pursuing her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from Bemidji State University (BSU).

Trevor Chastek, a 2014 Bemidji High School (BHS) graduate, is currently a Pre-Med/Biology major at BSU.

Courtney Fultz graduates in May from Bagley High School and plans to pursue a nursing degree from the University of North Dakota (UND) or the University of Minnesota-Morris.

Shelby Hagen graduates from Fosston High School in May and will study nursing at BSU.

Paula Juve graduates from Fosston High School in May and plans to major in nursing at UND.

Erin Larson graduated from BHS in 2013 and is currently working toward a degree as a physical therapist at BSU.

Davis Mills graduated from Stephen/Argyle High School in 2012 and is studying to be a registered nurse at BSU.

Aaron Nissen, a 2012 Blackduck High School graduate, is majoring in exercise physiology at BSU and will continue on to pursue a doctorate degree in physical therapy.

Jolie Schummer graduates from BHS in May and plans to receive a degree in pharmacy from North Dakota State University.

Andrew Solseth, a 2012 Brainerd High School graduate, is currently studying for his BSN at BSU.
