Embattled tribal leader rushed to Sioux Falls

The longtime chairman of the Lower Brule Sioux Reservation was rushed to a Sioux Falls hospital with an undisclosed heart condition, a tribal spokesman confirmed Monday.

Michael Jandreau was brought to Sioux Falls from the Chamberlain hospital over the weekend. Spokesman Marshall Matz said by email that Jandreau had been suffering from pneumonia, which caused a heart problem. He underwent an MRI this morning but no other information was immediately available.
