Section 8A East Quarterfinal – #8 Laporte 45 vs. #1 Red Lake 87

The Warriors had a twelve point lead at halftime, taking them a little while to get into a flow in the first round of playoffs, but once they did, great things happened.

Red Lake dominated the second half and came away with a commanding win to advance to the Section 8A East Semifinals at the Ralph Engelstad Arena in Thief River Falls Saturday at Noon to face the Mahnomen Indians.

Warriors were 5-10 from the free throw line, had 39 rebounds, 19 steals and 15 turnovers

Jeremy Martin 18 points, four rebounds

Rob McClain 16 points, 16 rebounds, five steals, four blocked shots

Russell Kingbird 13 points, three rebounds, three steals

Mason Kingbird seven points, six rebounds, three steals

Warriors are now 20-5 with the win.

Laporte was 4-6 from the free throw line, had 18 rebounds, eight steals and 26 turnovers

Austin Moss 17 pointss, nine rebounds

Quintin Nelson 10 points, five steals

THe Wildcats end their season 10-17 with the loss.

Mahnomen only held a three point lead at halftime 28-25, but ended up at the free throw line thirty times in the second half, knocking down twenty-two of them. The Indians only converted six field goals total second half (five two's and one three).

Section 8A West Quarterfinal – #9 Climax/Fisher 40 lost to #1 Win E Mac 82

The #1 Seed WEM Patriots looked like it tonight as they they took a commanding 48 to 15 half time lead over Climax-Fisher and never looked back. Final score of this one, 82 to 40. Patriots move on to play winner of WAO and Kittson.
