Bemidji State's sixth annual Midwinter Interlude art show opens March 2

Feb. 26, 2015 — Bemidji State University’s faculty and staff are displaying their artistic talents at the sixth annual Midwinter Interlude art show, opening March 2 in the university’s Ramsey Gallery.

The Ramsey Gallery is located on the first level of BSU’s Bangsberg Fine Arts Complex. It is barrier-free and open to the public free of charge.

“We are proud of the talent that is available at BSU,” said Deb Krueger, an administrative specialist in Hagg-Sauer Hall who founded the show and coordinates it each year. “This is a way to share that talent with others and get to know each other in a different context.“

Faculty and staff will celebrate the exhibit at a March 6 opening reception. Artists featured in the exhibit will be available to discuss their work from 4-7 p.m. in the gallery lobby, and live entertainment and refreshments will be available. The reception will be part of Bemidji’s First Friday Art Walk.

After starting with 17 exhibitors during the inaugural show, this year’s Midwinter Interlude will include the work of about two dozen exhibitors and three entertainers. Works on display have included photography, stained glass, sculpture, jewelry, quilting, knitting, drawing and painting, fishing tackle, and other forms of arts and crafts.
