Domestic violence coalition includes Redby victim in statewide flag campaign

ST. PAUL -- The Live Free Without Violence flag has been raised across the state in honor of Joseph Kroll and Krista Fisherman, Minnesota's first known victims of intimate partner homicide in 2015, according to the Minnesota Coalition of Battered Women.

Fisherman, 35, of Redby, was found lying in a street near a mall in Bemidji on Feb. 13. She was stabbed at least four times, with one wound proving fatal, according to court documents. Brian Jourdain, 25, of Bemidji, was identified with Fisherman on video surveillance from a store in the mall before the stabbing and was later arrested. Jourdain has been charged with two counts of second-degree murder, one with and one without intent, in her death.
