2014 Artist's Christmas Sale held in Red Lake - P3

The Red Lake Nation Entrepreneur Program held its 3rd Christmas Sale on December 11th, showcasing local Red Lake artists at Seven Clans Casino Red Lake. This event was made possible with the support and sponsorship of the Red Lake Nation and the Minnesota American Indian Chamber of Commerce (MAICC).

There were 36 artists represented at 23 Vendor Tables, who captured a combined sales total of over $9,500 for the day.

The artists provided a diverse selection of gift options; beadwork and jewelry, Patrick DesJarlait prints, screen printed t-shirts, purses, pot holders, quilts, dream catchers, regalia, Christmas Décor and more. The artists also provided an assortment of food items such as banana bread, fudge, candy baskets, hominy, venison jerky, and delicious smoked white fish dip.

The Christmas Sale has become so successful and enjoyable for the artists, the Entrepreneur Program and the artists have formed an Artist's Sales Committee to work on doing more of these sales each year. Watch for upcoming promotions here, and on RLNN, facebook, and community fliers.

The Entrepreneur Program continues to seek out other Red Lake artists to inform them of future sales opportunities and resources. If you are an artist of any kind (visual, literary, performing, or traditional foods), they want to get your contact information. Please contact them at sjames@redlakenation.org or 218-679-1892.

The Red Lake Entrepreneur Program was established in 2012 to create an entrepreneurial environment for Red Lake Band members by providing technical assistance, education, financing, and commercial space. They provide assistance and education with business plan development, accounting, financing, marketing, and management. They also provide business loans for eligible Red Lake enrollees locating their business on or within 10 miles of the Red Lake Reservation. They are located in the Agency Building.
