Violet Roy, 69, of Cass Lake, MN, died Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at the Sanford Fargo Medical Center in Fargo, ND.

Traditional Funeral Services will be 10:00 am, Monday, December 15, 2014 at the Little Rock Community Center in Red Lake, MN. A wake will begin 1:00 pm, Saturday, December 13, 2014, at the Little Rock Community Center and will continue until the time of the service. Arrangements are with the Cease Family Funeral Home of Bemidji.

She was born on October 2, 1945, in Red Lake, MN, the daughter of Joseph Spears and Cordelia Feather. She was raised and educated in Red Lake. She worked for an electrical company in Bemidji for a time. She married Theodore Roy and they lived in Red Lake. She moved to Minneapolis, MN, and later moved to Canada for a number of years. She returned to Red Lake in 1975. In 1980 she moved to Cass Lake and worked for Leech Lake Chemical Dependency for 15 years. In 1994 she began cooking for the Elderly Nutrition Program until her retirement in 2007. She raised four of her grandchildren, and loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed traveling to pow-wows and dancing. She liked to spend time with her friends at the Palace Casino and play bingo. She was a loving and caring person who always looked out for her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her: Children, Theodore (Darla) Russell Robert (Barb) Meeshenow, Marilyn Feather, Amy (Steph) Welivry, Meghan Tangherlini, Roberta (Jon Goose) Meeshenow, Deanna (James Nevitt) Meeshenow, Lea (Ramiro) Trevizo-Roy, Sister, Mary Cutbank, Uncle, Melvin Feather, Numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, her husband, son Scotty R. Meeshenow, brother Francis "Banjo" Feather, sister Jane Blue, grandson Michael James Littlewolf, granddaughter Baby Girl Trevizo-Roy, and her special friend Fredrick R. White.

Active Casketbearers will be Scott Roy, Dominic Meeshenow, Danny McKenzie, Tony Tangherlini, Kevin Jackson, Lydell Feather, with Alternates: Elias and Alexander Miranda.

Honorary Casketbearers will be Armella Charwood, Tina Goodman, Doug Furhman, Marge McCree, Jackie Brown, and all her Children and Grandchildren.
