Red Lake Department of Public Safety - Heroin Drug Bust

According to Bill Brunelle, Red Lake Department of Public Safety Director, the Red Lake Department of Public Safety served a search warrant for illegal drugs last week at a Red Lake Reservation residence.

There, officers seized a substantial amount of heroin, weighing over two pounds or 1 kilogram, with an estimated street value of over $150,000.00, in addition to methamphetamine and marijuana.

There were five adults taken into custody, two males and three females. The three females arrested are Red Lake residents and face tribal drug charges of unlawful sale, possession, child endangerment and conspiracy.

The two arrested males are non-band members and were transported to another jurisdiction where charges are pending.

The case remains under investigation by the Red Lake Department of Public Safety and Headwaters Safe Trails Task Force.
