CASS LAKE -- Unofficial results are in for the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe 2014 general election.
Positions on the ballot included secretary/treasurer, District 1 representative and District 2 representative. District 2 results were not available.
According to the preliminary results, challenger Arthur “Archie” LaRose received 1,282 votes (57.8 percent) for secretary/treasurer. Incumbent Donald J. Finn received 936 votes.
Penny Devault received 370 votes in District 1 giving her 73.12 percent of the votes. James Howard received 136 votes. District 1 Representative Robbie Howe did not be seek reelection.
District 1 includes Ball Club, Deer River, Duluth, Inger, Squaw Lake and Winnie Dam. District 2 includes Bena, Boy Lake, Kego Lake, Smokey Point and Sugar Point. District 3 includes Cass Lake, Onigum, Cass River and Oak Point.
General results will be certified by the election board by 8 p.m. June 11.
