Lawrence Edward Stillday, Sr., "Chi-ma'iingan", Bear Clan, age 70, of Ponemah, Minnesota died Tuesday, May 20th, 2014 at his home.

A wake will be held beginning on Saturday, May 24th at the Ponemah Boys and Girls Club. Traditional Services will be at 1:00 pm Monday, May 26th, 2014 at the Ponemah Boys and Girls Club in Ponemah, MN with Spiritual Leader Anna Gibbs officiating. Interment will be at family burial grounds in Ponemah, MN.

He was born May 14th, 1944, to Warren and Alvina Stillday and raised in Ponemah, the heart of the Red Lake Nation. He was in the Army for four years, serving in Vietnam. Lawrence then lived in the Twin Cities area until moving back home in 1999. After moving to Ponemah, he devoted himself to helping his people. His passion was helping people with the journey of their lives. He walked with many.

He was a well respected Spiritual Advisor involved in numerous projects both on and off the Red Lake Nation. He recently retired from Red Lake Chemical Health after more than fourteen years employed.

He is survived by his Wife- Violet Rose Stillday Sons- Larry Stillday, Jr., Randy (Marna) Stillday, Leigh (Holly) Stillday, and Matthew Stoltz Daughter- Jessica (Chad) Stillday Butler Adopted Children- Amy (Keavin) Tanner, Tim (Leila) deGeneres, and Kaitlyn (John) Grenier Grandchildren- Quinlyn, Cole, Daniel, Georgia, Evan, Collin, Tyler, Nessa, Lane, Dalton, Alexis, Evelyn, Kaylee, Haylee, Chase, Beaux, Kailey, Kalyn (Troy), Katriel, Kaylee, Kendra, Kody, Kaylee, Joseph, and Dylan. Great Grandchild- Tanner Sisters- Rose Cloud, Patsy Stillday, Althea Johnson, and Margaret Jarski He was preceded in death by his Parents- Warren and Alvina Stillday Brothers- Warren, Jr. Alvin, and Warren "Koonie" Stillday Sister- Betty Ann Cloud

Casketbearers will be Chris Cloud, Elliot Cloud, Sr., Alvie Stillday, James Cloud III, Rick Kimbrell, Wesley Cloud, Jr., Dallas Stillday, and Brian Stillday. Alternate Casketbearers will be Tim deGeneres and Jerry "Hoss" Stillday.

Honorary Casketbearers will be all his relatives and friends.
