Law enforcement searching for stabbing suspect

The Beltrami County Sheriff's Office issued a Code Red alert Thursday evening about a stabbing suspect who fled the area of Averi Circle and Grant Valley Road NW.

According to a release from the sheriff's office, the suspect is described as an American Indian male, 20-25 years of age, 5'10" to 6" tall, of medium build. The man was wearing a black hoodie sweatshirt, the alert said.

The area of the search is about 2.5 miles northwest of Bemidji High School. Just before midnight, the office updated the alert saying that the area was thoroughly searched and the suspect was not located. No other information on the stabbing incident was included in the alert.
