USDA Re-establishes Council for Native Farming & Ranching, Seeks Member Nominations

The U.S. Department of Agriculture has re-established the Council for Native American Farming and Ranching. The purpose of the council is to provide recommendations to the Secretary of Agriculture on how to eliminate barriers to Native American participation in Farm Service Agency farm-loan programs and other farm programs. The council will discuss these issues and formulate recommendations concerning any changes to FSA regulations or internal guidance or other measures.

USDA is seeking nominations for individuals to be considered for council membership. Candidates who wish to be considered for membership should submit an AD-755 application form [ http://www.ocio.usda.gov/sites/default/files/docs/2012/AD-755_Master_2012_508%20Ver.pdf ] and resume to the Secretary of Agriculture. Cover letters should be addressed to the Secretary of Agriculture. Nominations must be submitted by May 15, 2014.
