Ponemah man guilty of strangulation

RED LAKE -- A Ponemah man was found guilty of strangling a woman on the Red Lake Indian Reservation in 2013.

Terry Dean Iceman, 47, was convicted of one count of strangulation following a three-day jury trial in a federal court in Duluth. The case is the result of investigation by the Red Lake Tribal Police Department and the FBI.

Iceman assaulted the victim by strangling her on July 18, according to a release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office. He faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison. Iceman’s sentencing has yet to be scheduled.
