"DRUG BUSTS RESULT IN 13 ARRESTS"

According to William Brunelle, Red Lake Department of Public Safety Director, the Red Lake Law Enforcement Staff continues to send a strong message to local drug dealers surrounding the sale and possession of illegal drugs. The department recently served two search warrants at two separate Red Lake reservation residences related to drug sales and possession of marijuana. The search warrants resulted in 13 arrests and the seizure of 6.3 pounds of marijuana with a street value of up to $10,000.00 and the confiscation of $3,334 cash. The 13 individuals face charges surrounding the sale of controlled substances, unlawful possession, child endangerment and disorderly house.

The Police Department consistently makes arrests surrounding the sale and possession of methamphetamine, cocaine, marijuana and illegal prescription drugs in addition to previously serving several search warrants resulting in the seizure of over $20,000.00 cash and illegal drugs with an estimated street value ranging from $15,000 to $18,000. As part of the investigations, there were several vehicles seized as well. Many of these cases are still under investigation and others have already resulted in convictions.

The public is encouraged to contact the Red Lake Department of Public Safety Criminal Investigations Division at (218) 679-3313 with any information related to any illegal drug sales or prescription pill activities and join in our battle to rid the reservation of these devastating activities. You may call in anonymously if you wish.
