Margaret "Lady Bug" Rose Johnson

Margaret "Lady Bug" Rose Johnson, 81 of Red Lake, MN died Saturday, March 29, 2014 at Red Lake Hospital.

Services will be at 1:00 pm Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Red Lake, MN with Fr. Jerry Rogers officiating. A wake will begin at 10:00 am, Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at the Redby Center and go until the time of service on Wednesday. Interment will be at a later date under the direction of the Cease Family Funeral Home of Bemidji.

Margaret "Lady Bug" Johnson was born April 21, 1932 in Red Lake, MN the daughter of Roman and Rose Stately. She grew up in Red Lake where she met and later married Earl Johnson in 1950. They moved to S. St. Paul where they started raising their family and later moved to Inver Grove Heights, which was her home for many years before she returned back to Red Lake in the 1990's. Lady Bug raised her 7 children as well as her nephews Jerry and Jeff Stately and her grandson, Duane Johnson. She was well known for her cooking, especially her famous fry bread, her green thumb and for having the most caring and biggest heart for everyone in her family. She loved having company, her cat "Morris", going to the casino, Bingo and playing Skip-Bo and Yahtzee.

She is survived by her children - Erlene, Jodi, Brenda (Mel), Wendy (Tony), Bruce and Rose Johnson; special sons Jerry and Jeff Stately; siblings - Alvina Strong and Roman "Ducker" Stately; sister-in-law Betty Schoenborn, 27 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, siblings - Clarence "Sonny", George, Marian and Gerald Stately, Mary "Peaches" Roy and Irene Graves; children - Roman "Mit" and Brenda Lee; sisters-in-law - Amelia, Olive, Marilyn and Donna; grandsons - Duane and Andy and special niece Mona Bailey.

Honorary Casketbearers will be all her grandchildren, nieces and nephews, Jo and Robyn Dudley, Berta Ann Smith, Elvira Morgan, James Brun, Corey Bailey, Harold Graves and Debra Kingbird.

Active Casketbearers will be Derek Johnson, Daniel Johnson, Anthony Morrison, Thomas Owens, Darin Jackson, Jerry Stately, Jeff Stately, Melvin Owens, Jr. and alternates will be Kyle Stately, Steven "Scup" Thunder and Greg Stately
