...SIGNIFICANT WINTER STORM TO IMPACT THE REGION LATE TONIGHT THROUGH EARLY TUESDAY MORNING...

.A POTENT STORM SYSTEM WILL MOVE FROM THE CENTRAL PLAINS LATE TONIGHT INTO MINNESOTA MONDAY AND MONDAY NIGHT. THE STORM WILL MOVE SLOWLY ACROSS THE REGION. CONFIDENCE IS HIGH FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF A SIGNIFICANT BAND OF HEAVY SNOW ACROSS EASTERN NORTH DAKOTA AND NORTHWEST MINNESOTA ALONG WITH WIND GUSTS IN EXCESS OF 50 MPH ALONG AND WEST OF THE VALLEY. EXTREME BLIZZARD CONDITIONS WILL LIKELY RESULT ALONG AND WEST OF THE VALLEY.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN GRAND FORKS HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM WARNING FOR HEAVY SNOW...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 1 AM MONDAY TO 7 AM CDT TUESDAY. THE WINTER STORM WATCH IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.

* TIMING...LATE TONIGHT THROUGH TUESDAY MORNING. THE HEAVIEST SNOW WILL OCCUR LATE MONDAY MORNING INTO THE AFTERNOON AND EVENING HOURS.

* WINDS...NORTH WIND GUSTING TO 35 MPH.

* VISIBILITIES...LESS THAN ONE QUARTER MILE AT TIMES IN HEAVY SNOW MONDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...10 TO 20 INCHES...LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS POSSIBLE.

* OTHER IMPACTS...EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND DIFFICULT TRAVEL CONDITIONS.
