Marcella Roy

Marcella Jean Roy (Noondagozi Ginew which means Sound of The Eagle Calling), 48 of Red Lake, MN entered into eternal rest Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at Sanford Fargo Medical Center.

Funeral Services will be 1:00 pm Monday, March 24, 2014 at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Red Lake, MN with Fr. Jerry Rogers officiating. A wake will begin at 2 pm on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at the Red Lake Center and go until the time of service. The Cease Family Funeral Home of Bemidji assisted the family with arrangements.

Marcella Jean Roy was born January 31, 1966 in Minneapolis, MN. She was raised and educated in Red Lake and graduated from Red Lake High School. She also attended the Haskell Institute. She had most recently worked at the Red Lake Casino as a blackjack dealer. She had a great sense of humor and sense of the absurd. She grew up with a close circle of family and friends that she kept throughout her life. She enjoyed music and was a real movie buff, quoting favorite lines with her cousins from memory. Many evenings were spent playing dice with family and friends. Her children were her world and she was looking forward to welcoming her first grandchild in May.

She is survived by her daughter Savannah Roy, son Tre Roy, siblings Vicky (Darrell May) Roy, Clayton (Karyn Jones) Jourdain and Kelly (Keith May) Jourdain, special brothers Victor Roy and Mike Roy, mother Arlene Jourdain, father John Joe Stately, uncle Larry Roy, aunt Judy Roy and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Robert and Sarah Roy, great niece Angel Hart and numerous aunts and uncles.
