George "Begood" Wilbur Jones

George W. Jones Jr, 85, of Cass Lake, MN, died Thursday, March 13, 2014 at his home in Cass Lake.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 am Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at the Veteran's Memorial Building in Cass Lake, MN with Rev. Mark Olson and Rev. John Rock officiating. A wake will begin at 4:00pm, Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at the Veteran's Memorial Building and will continue until the time of the service. Interment of his urn will be at the St. Theodore's Catholic Cemetery in Ponsford, MN, under the direction of the Cease Family Funeral Home of Bemidji.

He was born on October 31, 1928, in White Earth, MN, the son of George Jones Sr., and Julia Rock. He was raised and educated in Pine Point, MN. He joined the US Army and served in Korea. He was a logger in the Cass Lake area before he moved to Minneapolis. In Minneapolis, he worked for Garleick Steel Company for over 20 years. He was a hard worker, and very meticulous in his work and life. He enjoyed gardening, going to the Palace Casino, and playing bingo. He was content with what life gave him, he wasn't afraid of death, and was ready to meet his Lord. He would help out anyone who needed it; he was greatly loved by his family and friends.

He is survived by: Special Friend,Joyce Hanson, her family, and all their grandchildren, Brother, Harold Jones, and Caregiver, Ila Senn,

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Wallace Jones, Herbert Jones, James Jones, Ivan Brown, and Kenneth Brown; and sisters, Harriet Jones, Marilyn Brown, Delores Brown, and Marlene Brown.

Active Casketbearers will be: Daniel McKenzie Jr., Daniel McKenzie Sr., Glen Sommers, Marvin Hanson, Richard Butcher, and Douglas Butcher.

Honorary Casketbearers will be: Roberta Jones, Danielle McKenzie, Roberta McKenzie, and all of George's friends and family.
