.A STRONG WINTER STORM WILL MOVE ACROSS THE UPPER MIDWEST LATE TONIGHT THROUGH LATE TUESDAY AND LINGER INTO WEDNESDAY. THE STORM WILL BRING HEAVY SNOW TO THE REGION. SNOWFALL TOTALS WILL RANGE FROM 8 TO 12 INCHES FROM BRAINERD TO DULUTH AND ALONG THE NORTH AND SOUTH SHORES OF WESTERN LAKE SUPERIOR. AREAS TO THE WEST WILL SEE LESSER AMOUNTS AROUND 4 TO 6 INCHES. INLAND AREAS OF NORTHWEST WISCONSIN ARE EXPECTED TO SEE AMOUNTS AROUND 5 TO 8 INCHES. THE SNOW IS EXPECTED TO DIMINISH LATE TUESDAY NIGHT INTO WEDNESDAY FROM WEST TO EAST ACROSS THE NORTHLAND.

* LOCATION...HEAVY SNOW IS EXPECTED OVER THE BRAINERD LAKES REGION EAST NORTHEAST INTO DULUTH.

* TIMING...SNOW IS EXPECTED TO START LATE TONIGHT AND CONTINUE ACROSS THE AREA THROUGH TUESDAY NIGHT...BEFORE ENDING FROM WEST TO EAST ON WEDNESDAY.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...TWO DAY SNOWFALL TOTALS ARE EXPECTED TO RANGE FROM 8 TO 11 INCHES FOR MUCH OF THE AREA...WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS OF UP TO 13 INCHES POSSIBLE ALONG THE NORTH

SHORE OF LAKE SUPERIOR. THE GREATEST SNOWFALL ACCUMULATIONS ARE EXPECTED TO OCCUR DURING THE DAY ON TUESDAY.

* WINDS/VISIBILITY...NORTHEAST WINDS OF 15 TO 25 MPH WILL PRODUCE REDUCED VISIBILITIES IN THE SNOW.
