Warriors end season with 95-67 loss to Maranatha Christian Academy - P4

Red Lake ends their season with a final record of 23-8.

#2 Maranatha Christian (26-3) sprinted past Red Lake (23-8) 95-67 on Thursday afternoon in the MSHSL Class A Quarterfinals at Williams Arena on the campus of the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.

Maranatha broke the game open early with an 11-0 run while holding Red Lake scoreless for four minutes after Red Lake opened the game with a 3-pointer on its first possession.

Maranatha used a 17-4 run a little later in the half to take a 28-10 lead with 7:17 to play before the break and went into halftime up 45-17.

Red Lake cut the lead down to 10 in the second half, 55-45, but would never get the game into single digits again. Maranatha responded to the 10-point deficit by opening up another 18-5 run to claime a 73-50 lead

with 7:27 to play in the contest.

Maranatha was led by junior forward Jeremiah Hanson with 31 points and nine rebounds (five offensive) with three steals. He shot 13-22 from the field and buried five 3-pointers.

Mustang junior guard Jake Meyen grabbed a game-high 14 rebounds and scored 21 points on 8-12 shooting and had four blocked shots.

Red Lake was led by senior guard Ryan Holthusen's 28 points off of three 3-pointers and three steals.

Maranatha out-rebounded Red Lake 47-28 in the game and bruised them inside for a 48-28 scoring advantage in the paint. Maranatha shot 57.1% (36-63) for the game while holding Red Lake to 36.1% (22-61) shooting.

Maranatha advances to the Class A Semifinals on Friday, March 14 at 2 p.m. at Target Center against the Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City / #3 Rushford-Peterson winner.

Canby trailed by 18 points with nine minutes remaining in regulation.
