Red Lake Middle School National Junior Honor Society Fundraises for Dorothy Cobenais

This winter Red Lake Middle School National Junior Honor held several fundraisers to help support former school board member Dorothy Cobenais after the loss of her home to fire. The students worked very hard to raise $626.00! Dorothy was very grateful for the donation the students raised.

Selling raffle tickets for two Nook Readers was the most popular fundraiser, and students had a lot of fun selling them at conferences, several basketball games, and outside of school. The winners were Aaron White and Al English. Students also participated in the Herberger's Community Days fundraiser, selling coupons books for $5. This was an outstanding fundraiser, because NJHS was able to donate 100% of the profits, and the buyers were able to get over $500 in coupons, including a $10 off a $10 purchase coupon! We are hoping to be able to sell these coupon books again.

We would like to extend a great thanks to all who donated and participated in supporting this fundraiser. It is an honor to help out a community member in need.

These characteristics have been associated with membership in the organization since their beginnings in 1929.
