Red Lake Lady Warriors will play Cass Lake this evening at 6 PM at BSU

The Red Lake Lady Warriors, ranked #1 in the East Section 8A, will play their first game of the Tournament this evening at 6 PM against Cass Lake, ranked #8. They will play at Bemidji State University.

Last year Red Lake won their first game in the tournament, but were knocked off by Fosston at the REA in Thief River Falls.

The Lady Warriors are 15-3 on the seasion and 13-0 in their conference. In the last 10 games, they are 9-1 and have not lost a game this season at home. They also averaged over 70 points per game.

Their 3 losses were to Class AA teams; Pelican Rapids 74-54, Milaca 80-77 and Crookston 78-65.

Cass Lake is 4-20 on the season and 3-11 in the conference. In their last 10 games they are 4-6. Their first game in the Section Tournament they defeated Lake of the Woods 66-30 to advance.

Red Lake has defeated the Panthers both times they have met this year, 70-37 in Cass Lake, and 83-35 in Red Lake.

If the Warriors win they will advance and play the winner of the Fosston and Kelliher-Northome game, scheduled for 7:45 PM tonight, at the REA in Thief River Falls. That game is set for Saturday, March 8th at 3:30 PM.

The Red Lake Warrior boys team won their section 8E Championship on Tuesday and will play in the Section 8 Championship Game on Friday against the 8W Champions, Northern Freeze.
