400 show up at Minnesota Capitol to protest wolf hunting

ST. PAUL - About 400 Minnesotans rallied against wolf hunting during a state Capitol event Thursday sponsored by Howling for Wolves.

They argued for a temporary suspension of the wolf hunt, which is 2 years old. More than 1,000 wolves have been killed in the hunts.

Howling for Wolves founder Maureen Hackett said the state should "stop the indiscriminate wolf hunting methods of baiting, trapping and snaring. Public opinion is on our side, and our goal to make sure constituent voices are heard."
