GRANTS FOR YOUNG PEOPLE in ALL ARTS DISCIPLINES AVAILABLE

The Region 2 Arts Council encourages 8-12 grade students with a strong interest in the arts to apply for a Region 2 Arts Council Legacy Funded Artist Mentor Grant. Students must reside in Beltrami, Hubbard, Lake of the Woods, Clearwater, and Mahnomen counties to be eligible for this grant.

Grant Writing Workshop: Saturday, March 8, 2014. 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. 426 Bemidji Avenue, Bemidji. We’ll talk through the paperwork! Call 751-5447 to register.

Informational Meeting: Monday, March 10, 2014. 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. Headwaters School of Music and the Arts at 519 Minnesota Avenue, Bemidji. Meet Region 2 Arts Council Staff, and former mentors and student grant recipients. We’ll answer questions and share our enthusiasm! Students, parents, teachers, guardians, and artists interested in mentoring are invited. Free & snacks provided. Call to register!

Application Deadline: Wednesday, April 9, 2014. 5:00 p.m. Drop off at Region 2 Arts Council office or mail in.

Grant Review Session: Saturday, May 3, 2014. 15-minute interviews for applicants.

Grant recipients receive either 20 hours of one-on-one mentoring with a Minnesota adult artist or $600 toward tuition for a class, camp or workshop in the student’s art discipline in the state of MN.
