Debra Ann Pickner, age 52, of Pierre, South Dakota Journeyed to the Spirit World on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota.

She was born on September 15, 1961 in Chamberlain, South Dakota the daughter of Earl Pickner and Theresa (Stepp) Red Bear.

Debra attended school at Fort Thompson Elementary and graduated from Crow Creek High School in 1980.

She held several jobs through out her life which she worked at White Lake Nursing Home, worked on her aunt Peggy Steigers ranch, CCHS Dorm Matron, Walwart, Corner Grocery and most recent Pierre Indian Learning Center for seven years.

Debraella enjoyed being with family and friends.

Deb is survived by her son: Matthew Pickner and granddaughter: Olivia of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; her mother: Theresa Red Bear of Fort Thompson, South Dakota; brothers: Bob (Rosie) Pickner of Billings, Montana, Tim (Denise) Pickner of Blackfoot, South Dakota, Tom Pickner of Riverton, Wyoming, Randy (Sherry) Pickner of White Horse, South Dakota, Todd Red Bear of Pierre, South Dakota, Charles Sonny Red Bear of Fort Thompson, South Dakota, Earlwyn, Jason & Jeff Pickner of Fort Thompson, South Dakota; half sisters: Glenda St. John of Fort Thompson, South Dakota; adopted brothers: Joe Taylor of Portage Laprairie Manitoba Canada, Chris Caldwell of Chamberlain, South Dakota, Tony Gonzales of Fort Thompson, South Dakota; special friend: Tim (Shug) Gunderson of Pierre, South Dakota; special cousins: Crystal Pickner of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Kay Koster of Stephan, South Dakota; aunts: Mary (Shavonne) Stepp of Fort Thompson, South Dakota, Henrietta Stepp of Chamberlain, South Dakota; uncle: Gilbert Ray Pickner of Crow Creek, South Dakota; several cousins, nieces, nephews to numerous to mention.

Preceded in death by her father: Earl Pickner, brothers: Richard and Rick Pickner, paternal grandparents: Elmer Pickner and Elvira (Philberick) Pickner, four aunts: Buelah, Margery, Rose & Peggy and a uncle: Boyd, maternal grandparents: Burton & Margaret (Stands on Top) Stepp, five uncles Hamlin, Merton, James, Burton Jr. and Bill and by her step father: Charles Red Bear Sr.

Funeral services for Debra Ann Pickner will be held on Saturday, February 8th at 2:00 P.M. at The Community Building in Fort Thompson, South Dakota. Officiating will be Kim Fonder, Terry Quilt and Armand Olson. Interment will follow at Christ Episcopal Cemetery in Fort Thompson, South Dakota.

Special music by Darlene Red Elk.

All night wakes will be held on Thursday, February 6th and Friday, February 7th beginning at 6:00 P.M. at The Community Building in Fort Thompson, South Dakota.
