Twila Kaye Comes Flying, age 45, of Minneapolis. Journeyed to the Spirit World on Thursday, January 23rd, 2014 at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis.

She was born on January 28, 1968 in Chamberlain, South Dakota to Kermit Come Flying Sr. and Faith Bad Moccasin.

Twila was raised by her loving grandparents Floyd and Melda Comes Flying.

Twila attended grade school at Fort Thompson elementary and high school at Crow Creek High School in Stephan, South Dakota graduating in 1987 and went on to college at Haskell Indian School in Lawrence, Kansas for two years.

She enjoyed beading, making star quilts, playing softball, singing with the Dakota Interdenominational singers and singing Dakota hymns.

She leaves behind her a son: Rowan Comes Flying of Fort Thompson; Rowlanda Comes Flying of Fort Thompson;Tatiana Perdomo of Minneapolis, Suki Comes Flying of Fort Thompson; her grandson, Jae'mon His Law, of Fort Thompson; and mother Faith Bad Moccasin of Minneapolis. She also leaves behind six brothers: Wendell Johnson of Pierre, South Dakota, Myron Johnson of Fort Thompson, South Dakota Bryce Drapeau of Fort Thompson, South Dakota Dean Bad Moccasin of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Kermit Comes Flying Jr. of Sioux Falls, South Dakota,

Waylon Comes Flying of Watertown, South Dakota; sister: Sandra Fredericks of Fort Thompson; three aunts: Joanne Bad Moccasin of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Phyllis Comes Flying and Hattie Thigh both of Fort Thompson; two uncles: Einar Bad Moccasin of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Bernard Bad Moccasin of Fort Thompson, South Dakota; many extended family and friends.

Preceded in death by her father: Kermit Comes Flying Sr., grandparents: Floyd & Melda Comes Flying. Abel & Edith Bad Moccasin, three sisters: Lolita Drapeau, Vanessa Comes Flying and Leah Bad Moccasin and by a brother: Dwight Drapeau.

Funeral services for Twila Comes Flying will be held on Tuesday, January 28th, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. at The Community Building in Fort Thompson, South Dakota. Reverend Kim Fonder will officiate.

Interment will follow at The Christ Episcopal Cemetery in Fort Thompson, South Dakota.

Special music by Butch Felix.

All night wakes will be held on Saturday, January 25th beginning at 4:00 P.M. at Little Earth of United Tribes, and on Sunday, January 26th and Monday, January 27th beginning at 5:00 P.M. at The Community Building in Fort Thompson, South Dakota.

Honorary Casket Bearers will be Skyla Marks, Rose Drapeau, Sandra Fredericks, and Laura Big Eagle.

Casket Bearers will be Dean Bad Moccasin, Bryce Drapeau, Weldon Comes Flying, Bernard Bad Moccasin, Einar Bad Moccasin, Delbert Comes Flying, Wally Thigh, and Chris Gran.
