JOB TITLE: Alternative Learning Support
REPORTS TO: Alternative Learning Teacher
JOB PURPOSE: To provide instructional support with one or more pupils under the direction of a licensed teacher.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The ALC Support shall:
1. Provide transportation to for students assigned to homebound services.
2. Provide instructional support for students in individual and small group setting under the direction of the Alternative Learning Teacher
3. Possess a valid Minnesota Driver's License
4. Demonstrate knowledge about Red Lake Nation culture and communities,
5. Fulfill requirements for mandatory background check,
6. Have good moral character and a strong work ethic.
7. Coordinate a pickup and drop-off route for homebound students.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Education and/or Experience Required:
Education:
1. Completed two years of study at an institution of higher education; or Associate's (or higher) degree; or
2. A demonstration, through a formal state or local academic assessment:
3. Knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing reading, writing and math; or
4. Knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing reading readiness, writing readiness and mathematics readiness as appropriate.
5. Knowledge: Reading, writing and math principals.
Skills:
1. Communication, computer and applicable software knowledge, organizational/ prioritizing work and demonstrated professional and ethical practices.
VERIFICATION OF COMPETENCY:
1. District application and professional resume.
2. Provide required documentation outlined in the qualifications above.
3. Three letters of reference
4. Employment interview.
EMPLOYMENT TERMS:
1. Work assignment will be Tuesdays and Wednesday's during the regular school year.
2. Hours will be 2:00 – 6:30 p.m.
