Minnesota Vikings Receiver Jennings, State Commerce Commissioner Rothman and Visa Inc. Collaborate to Launch Statewide Rollout of Financial Football

On Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at 10:00 a.m., Commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Commerce, Mike Rothman, Minnesota Vikings Wide Receiver Greg Jennings and representatives from Visa Inc. will be at Hopkins High School in Minnetonka Minnesota. They will be there for the statewide launch of an educational video game and classroom curriculum called Financial Football. The event will announce a new innovative partnership among the Minnesota State Government, the National Football League (NFL), the NFL PLAYERS and Visa in promoting financial education in the North Star State.

The centerpiece of Minnesota’s financial education initiative with Visa, the NFL and NFL PLAYERS, Financial Football helps students and adults tackle their financial futures. The launch of this multi-layer program will include an online component for all Minnesotans and DVDs with additional teaching resources which will be provided to each school and various community organizations throughout the state. Details of the program will be announced at the launch.

Minnesota Vikings Wide Receiver Greg Jennings joins Minnesota Commerce Commissioner Mike Rothman and representatives from Visa for an event launching Financial Football statewide.

As part of this event Jennings and the Rothman will coach the students, divided into teams, in a high energy game of Financial Football projected onto a big screen at the front of the room.
