Tootie "St Cyr" Fairbanks

Tootie St. Cyr Fairbanks, 56, "OGICHIDAA EQUAY" which means "Warrior Woman", of Cass Lake, Minnesota, passed away at her home on November 12, 2013. She was born in Cass Lake, Minnesota to Sharon Villier and John 'Boy' Fairbanks on September 9, 1957.

Tootie had many accomplishments throughout her life starting with getting her GED. She also graduated from heavy equipment school and eventually worked as a secretary at the Minnesota Chippewa Tribe under the I.C.W.A Program. She raised 3 daughters, Marsha Freeman, Maria "Mouse" Fairbanks and Chantelle Fairbanks, and one special daughter, Melissa Baird.

She is survived by her soul mate Keith St. Cyr. of Cass Lake, daughters; Marsha Freeman, Maria "Mouse" Fairbanks and Chantelle Fairbanks all of Cass Lake, 8 beautiful grandchildren; Ernest DeClusin, Austin Reeves, Cecilia "CeCe" DeClusin, Marshall Reeves, Chaliah Smith, Brian Preston Jr., Richard "Bobo" Smith, and Bradley Preston. She also has many very cherished nieces and nephews such as Dale Fairbanks, David Villier, Jr., Reuben, Valerie and Michaela St. Cyr, Carlos, Renee and Calvin "JR" Sargent.

Tootie was preceded in death by her father John 'Boy' Fairbanks, brothers; Gordon Fairbanks and William St. Cyr and many special friends.

The celebration of Tootie's life will be held at the Facility Center in Cass Lake, Minnesota beginning Friday, November 15, 2013 at 5:00 p.m., and will continue through Saturday night, November 16, 2013. Her spiritual leader will be Robbie Budreau, Sr. Tootie's honorary pallbearers are David Villier, Jr., Reuben St. Cyr, David Villier, Sr., Vincent Morris, Richard Smith, Calvin Sargent, Laurie Sargent, Ernest DeClusin, Jr., Arlene Staples, Kirby Finn, Rick Haaland, Cecilia DeClusin, Dale Fairbanks, Carlos Sargent, Faye Headbird, Laurie Carlson. Inurnment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery at Cass Lake, Minnesota at a later date.
