Alcohol and Tobacco Compliance Checks

Over the next several months the Bemidji Police Department and Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office will be performing several rounds of alcohol and tobacco compliance checks throughout Bemidji and Beltrami County. These checks at local businesses ensure compliance with local and state laws relating to liquor and tobacco sales.

If businesses furnish alcohol or tobacco to the underage volunteers, officers and deputies will follow-up with the seller and issue the appropriate citations.

Chief Mike Mastin and Sheriff Phil Hodapp request local businesses become more vigilant about checking the identification card of those who appear underage and are attempting to purchase alcohol or tobacco.
