Bemidji, Minn. – The 9th Annual Beltrami Electric Touchstone Energy® Open raised over $8,400 for the United Way of the Bemidji Area held August 23 at Castle Highlands Golf Course. The annual tournament is the United Way’s largest fundraising event.
“The turnout for this year’s tournament was fantastic, as we saw a record number of teams, which proves that the members of our community are always ready to support the United Way,“ said Cammie Vogel, Beltrami Electric’s United Way campaign coordinator. “It was also exciting to see one of the tournament participants, Ken Gutknecht, hit the first-‐ever hole-‐in-‐ one in the nine-‐year history of the event. Even though he didn’t make it on the $10,000 hole, he did earn himself a nice set of irons from our insurance company.”
Approximately 100 local and regional businesses sponsor this tournament each year. The 10th annual tournament is scheduled for August 22, 2014.
