4th ANNUAL NEERCHOKIKOO POWWOW AT NAYA FAMILY CENTER

PORTLAND – NAYA Famliy Center is proud to once again host the Neerchokikoo Powwow, a celebration of Native culture, traditions, food and community. All are invited to attend and see the sights, hear the sounds and taste the delicious traditional foods representative of our diverse community.

The agenda for the day is as follows:

12:00pm – First Grand Entry

4:30pm – Honoring Ceremony

5:30pm – Community Dinner

7:30pm – Second Grand Entry

10:00pm – Retire the Flags

NAYA Family Center’s mission is “to enhance the diverse strengths of our youth and families in partnership with the community through cultural identity and education.” More than 40,000 American Indian, Alaska Native and First Nations individuals live in Portland, the 9th largest urban Indian population in the US. NAYA has been providing a range of social services to people of all ages for nearly 40 years. Roughly 1,500 children and 600 families are served by NAYA annually.
