Joseph Scott Tesar

Joseph Scott Tesar, 58, of Pinewood, MN, died Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at the Essentia Health Medical Center in Fargo, ND.

Memorial Services will be 2:00 pm, Monday, September 9, 2013 at the Cease Family Funeral Home in Bemidji, MN with Father Don Braukmann officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Bemidji, MN under the direction of the Cease Family Funeral Home of Bemidji.

He was born on December 5, 1954, the son of Richard and Florence (Scott) Tesar. After graduating high school he served in the US Army. When he was Honorably Discharged he returned to Bemidji and attended the Bemidji Vo-Tech where he earned his certification as a Licensed Practical Nurse. He worked as an LPN at the Jourdain-Perpich Extended Care Facility in Red Lake for 17 years, until his retirement in 2011 due to his health. He married Juanita Sargent on August 28, 2011 at their home in Pinewood, MN. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed all types of hunting and fishing every season of the year. He was constantly busy, using his construction skills to remodel his home. He was a HAM radio operator and enjoyed contacting all his friends in the HAM radio club, and new friends all over the world.

He is survived by: his wife, Juanita Tesar of Pinewood, MN, Children, Cindy (Chris) Reynolds of Fisher, MN, Kathy Preston of Bemidji, Kim Tesar of Bemidji, J.J. (Johnathon) Budd of Sauk Rapids, MN, Mother, Florence “Scotty” Tesar of Bemidji, Siblings, Katie (Damon) Jorgenson of Seattle, WA, John (Teresa) Tesar of Atlanta, Georgia, Steve (Margo) Tesar of Mattawan, Michigan, Step-Children, Michelle (Vern Cockle) Colliflower of Bemidji, Rebecca Colliflower of Polo, Illinois, Walter Lajeunesse of Red Lake, MN, 11 Grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, infant children Heather Lee Tesar, Josephine Tesar, Terry Joe Tesar, Patrick Edward Tesar, and his grown son Christopher Tesar.

Active Urnbearers will be his brothers John Tesar and Steve Tesar. Honorary Urnbearers will be Larry Chmielewski and Dan “Gizmo” Johnson.
