• Certificate of Red Lake enrollment which can be obtained from the Tribal Enrollment Office.
• A recent photo of your dance regalia
• Written Essay (1-2 pages) about: ♦yourself, ♦your family, ♦school activities, ♦knowledge of your tribe: the Red Lake Nation, ♦why you would like to be selected as the new:

Senior Miss Red Lake Nation: age 14 to 21
Senior Red Lake Brave: age 14 to 21
Junior Miss Red Lake Nation: age 6 to 13
Junior Red Lake Brave: age 6 to 13
Newly crowned royalty will receive a scholarship of $2,500 which can be used for upgrading regalia, travel and meals for pow-wows, school supplies
Royalty must be available to attend community events when called upon
All royalty contestants will receive school supplies and a new backpack

RULES AND REGULATION GOVERNING

• Must be available for all functions sponsored by the Red Lake Band of Chippewa Indians
• Must be a student in good standing and have good school attendance
• Must be a role model for all young men and women of the Red Lake Nation
• Smoking, use of alcohol, drugs or any mind altering substances are prohibited.
• Must not have hickies.
• Profane language will not be permitted.
• No Cyber Bullying or harassing behavior on the Internet including inappropriate behavior on Facebook.
• No gang activity will be tolerated.
• Any reports of misconduct to the Royalty Committee will be considered and appropriate action will be taken as follows:
1. Verbal reprimand
2. Written warning
3. Title will be taken with replacement by Alternate
who will also abide by the same rules and regulations.
• Alternate will assume Title for the remainder of the Reign.
• Funds allocated as per Tribal Council in the amount of $2,500 each are designated as Scholarship funds and will be used primarily for upgrading dance regalia, education necessities, and least of all, travel.
• No funds from the Tribal Council Donations Committee will be appropriated for Give-Aways or Specials.
• The Royalty Committee is responsible for approving funds which are requested
• Royalty is required to be registered and has to participate in all Grand Entries wherever your travel takes you.
• Full regalia must include moccasins, leggings, etc. Sashes and Crowns must be worn at all times except when competing in contests.
• All Royalty (Miss Red Lake Nation, Jr. Miss Red Lake Nation, Sr. Red Lake Brave, and Jr. Red Lake Brave) are responsible ONLY to the Royalty Committee.
• ANY COMPLAINTS ARE TO BE DIRECTED TO SAID COMMITTEE.
• The Royalty Committee is comprised of past Princesses and Braves, as authorized by Red Lake Tribal Council Resolution No. 176-95 and Resolution No. 122-05, setting guidelines and procedures for the Red Lake Nation Royalty.
• A CODE OF ETHICS must be signed by the new Royalty and Parent/Guardian.
• All former Royalty can compete again, but with a limit of two terms as a winner.
IMPORTANT
TO ALL CONTESTANTS:
Contestants must remain standing in the Grand Entry during prayer and
Veterans Songs. No loud talking or laughing during this time. This should be observed at ALL POW-WOWS.

JUDGING RESULTS WILL BE OPEN FOR INSPECTION SHOULD ANYONE
WISH TO MAKE A REQUEST.
