First Nations Development Institute Sets L.E.A.D. Conference for Oct. 3-4, 2013

LONGMONT, Colorado (August 13, 2013) – First Nations Development Institute (First Nations) has scheduled its 18th Annual L.E.A.D. Institute Conference for Oct. 3 and 4, 2013, at the Mystic Lake Casino Hotel in Prior Lake, Minnesota, just south of Minneapolis/St. Paul. Pre-conference sessions will be held Oct. 1 and 2.

The conference is open to anyone involved or interested in Native American nonprofit work, tribal governments or agencies, and Native-related businesses. It is designed to help emerging and existing leaders in Indian Country share ideas, network and learn new skills related to asset-building.

The L.E.A.D. Institute Conference is named after First Nations' L.E.A.D. program (Leadership and Entrepreneurial Apprenticeship Development). This year’s conference centers around three of First Nations’ program areas: Native Agriculture & Food Systems, Native Economic Development, and Native Nonprofit Capacity-Building. First Nations believes that showcasing work in these three areas, including best practices and emerging trends, is one key to strengthening Native institutions and the skills of the practitioners who do this essential work.

An early bird registration rate of $375 is available on or before September 6, 2013. After that, the conference fee increases to $450. Interested attendees can see the tentative agenda and register online at this link.

Conference sponsorships and exhibitor and vendor spots also are available. For information about sponsorships, contact Marsha at mwhiting@firstnations.org. For information about vendor and exhibitor opportunities, please contact Lisa at lyelloweagle@firstnations.org. Exhibitor slots are $375.
