Lawrence "Perkins" Albert Cronquist

Lawrence Albert Cronquist, Sr. “Perkins”, “Nigaaniiwe Wininii”, age 46, of Cass Lake, Minnesota passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 in Bemidji, MN. He was born on March 30, 1967 in Minneapolis the son of Harold “Mike” Michael and Ella Mae (Fairbanks) Cronquist.

Larry attended High School in Cass Lake and graduated from Leech Lake Tribal College as an Associate Electrician. He made many friends over the years that he worked at the Palace Casino. Larry loved to attend Pow Wow's to dance and was an avid fisherman. He loved spending time with family and friends. Larry never hesitated to "pitch in" whenever needed. He had a kind heart and this reflected on those he came in contact with. Perkins will be missed by everyone who knew him.

Perkins was preceded in death by his parents; Mike and Ella Mae.

He is survived by his significant other, Shirley Preston, sons; Michael Siewert of Duluth, James Siewert of Minneapolis, Lawrence Cronquist, Jr. of Cass Lake, and George Skye Tikayne of Cass Lake, brothers; Richard (Connie) Schulman of Cass Lake, Ronald Manson, and Lawrence Phillips of Minneapolis, special sisters; Judy and Linda Fairbanks, one grandson Dwayne, many other relatives and friends.

A wake service for Perkins will begin at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 11, 2013 and continue until the 11:00 a.m. service on Saturday, all at the Veteran’s Memorial Building in Cass Lake, MN with Rev. George Ross officiating. Pallbearers for Perkins will be Byron Garbow, Pete Cloud, Terry L. Robinson, Jr., Ben Schulman-Fineday, Joe Schulman and Ron Shabiash. Honorary Pallbearers will be Rick Schulman, Alisha Schulman, Ron Schulman, Ira Schoenborn, Jeff Brown, Larry White, Judee Garbow and Amber Fairbanks. Interment will be held in the Brown Eagle Cemetery at Oak Point with his numerous relatives and ancestors who have gone on before him.
