Audrey Marie White

Audrey Marie White, “OmashKoos” age 89, of Blackduck Journeyed to the Spirit World on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at Havenwood Care Center in Bemidji.

She was born on July 1, 1924 in Ponemah, Minnesota the daughter of Roy Cloud and Cecelia Kingbird.

Audrey was raised by her grandmother Begamibinesiik and lived in Ponemah all her life.

Audrey was joined in marriage to Samuel Z. White.

She was formerly employed planting trees, E.N.P.-Ponemah as a cook and server, was a foster grandparent and also baby sat her grandkids.

Audrey loved spending time with her family, grandkids, loved the outdoors, picking berries with her grandkids, cooking, going to the casino, going for rides, yard work, feeding all kinds of animals, playing card games, going on trips with the elderly. She also loved watching action movies with Steven Segal & Chuck Norris in them. She loved eating oatmeal in the mornings. Audrey loved going to pow-wows and was a jingle dress dancer. She was one of the few fluent Ojibwa speaking elders of Ponemah. She was also a Bear Clan.

Survived by her children: Virginia Spears, Brenda (Richard) White, Leroy White Sr. all from Ponemah, Chuck White Sr. (Linda) and Orville White Sr. all from Bemidji; thirty six grandchildren and one hundred four great grandchildren and forty four great, great grandchildren; special granddaughter: Vicky Spears; a sister: Esther Cloud; brothers: Leonard Cloud, Ralph Cloud Sr., Russell Cloud Sr. and Lester Cloud; special friends: Tinka & Otto Bloedow; other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by children: Perry White Sr., Victor White, Winfield White, Martha, Georgia, Darlene White, her parents, step kids: Geraldine & Ralph White, special granddaughter: Arlene Spears and by a special grandson Ralph “Sonny” Spears Jr.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 6th, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. at The Boys & Girls Club in Ponemah. Spiritual Leader will be Steve Jackson.

Interment will follow at The White Family Cemetery in Ponemah.

All night wakes will be held on Sunday, August 4th and Monday, August 5th beginning at 6:00 P.M. at The Boys & Girls Club in Ponemah.
