Henry "Hank" Francis Sayers, Sr.

Henry “Hank” Francis Sayers, Sr., 63, of Red Lake died Friday, July 5, 2013 at Sanford Bemidji Medical Center.

Funeral Services will be 1:00 pm Friday, July 12, 2013 at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Red Lake, MN with Father Jerry Rogers officiating. A wake will begin at 4 pm Wednesday at the Little Rock Community Center and will continue until the time of the services. Interment will be at the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Red Lake, MN under the direction of the Cease Family Funeral Home of Bemidji.

Hank was born January 11, 1950 in Red Lake, MN, the son of Eugene and Mary (Johns) Sayers, Sr. He was raised and educated in Red Lake. He worked at the Fishery in Redby for many years and then became a custodian at Head Start until he retired. He enjoyed going to the casino, watching CBS and listening to Country Music. Family was very important to him, he loved visiting with his children and grandkids and he helped raise his grand children- Thomas and Adriah Sayers.

He is survived by His mother- Mary Sayers 5 children- Henry (Brenda) Sayers, Jr. Eileen Sayers Thomas Sayers Phillip (Darcy) Sayers, Sr. Merri Jo Sayers 12 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren a brother- Aaron Sayers 2 sisters- Gloria Skinaway and Lorraine Sayers Numerous cousins, nieces and nephews He was preceded in death by his father Eugene, Sr., 2 brothers- Dennis and Eugene, Jr. and 2 sisters- Cheryl Taylor and Leslie Buffalo 3 nephews, Brian Buffalo, Patrick Sayers and Robert Mitchell, Jr. and a niece Emma Skinaway.

Honorary Casketbearers will be Gerald May, Sr., Thomas May, Donald “Dudie” May, Jr., Tony May, Brenda Sayers, Barb Thunder, Sandy Brown, Darlene Drouillard, Pete English, Frank Taylor, Joseph May, Jr., Reuben Wind, Lyman Kingbird, All Red Lake Headstart and Fisheries co-workers. Active Casketbearers will be Kenny Skinaway, Monroe Skinaway, Brent Sayers, Eugene Sayers III, Tom Sayers, Henry Sayers, Jr., Phillip Sayers, Sr., Clem May, Sr. with alternate: Gerald May, Jr.
