Beltrami Councy Sheriff's Department: Incident Involving Male with Weapon

On Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at 4:38 PM, the Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call from a residence in the 9000 block of Spencer Rd NW in Liberty Township, approximately 12 miles northwest of Bemidji, reporting a male member of the household was experiencing extreme mental duress and subsequently brandishing a loaded rifle.

Agencies immediately responding to the scene included the Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office, Minnesota State Patrol and a DNR Conservation Officer. Other agencies responding to assist as the incident unfolded were the US Border Patrol, Headwaters SWAT Team, Bemidji Police Department, Paul Bunyan Task Force, Bemidji Ambulance, Bemidji Fire Department, Sanford AirMed, Red Lake Tribal Police Department and the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension Crime Team (BCA).

The male was eventually taken into custody and transported to the Sanford Fargo Medical Center via Sanford AirMed helicopter.
