Red Lake Nation Entrepreneur Program
Business Committee Needed
The Red Lake Entrepreneur Program is establishing a steering committee to help further develop the Entrepreneur Program into a certified Native Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI).
The CDFI Steering Committee must be a representation of who the CDFI will serve, and will consist of five individuals with skills and experience in one or more areas of business, banking, accounting, business law, marketing, nonprofit management, or fundraising. At least three of the committee members must be Red Lake Band members.
Participation on the Steering Committee is voluntary, with pre-approved expenses being paid for by the program. The duties of the Steering Committee members will be to assist Sharon James, Small Business Development Manager of the Entrepreneur Program, with the following tasks:
• able to meet once per month for 1.5 hours;
• become familiar with the CDFI process and structure;
• assist with review and finalizing of the 501c3 paperwork;
• assist with drafting any additional policies, procedures, or services needed by the program;
• assist with future CDFI certification processes and paperwork; and
• serve as the first Board of Directors of the newly formed non-profit entity.
