Clarence Edward Clark, Sr. “Carrot”, 63, of Redby entered the spirit world Friday, May 31, 2013 at the Red Lake Indian PHS Hospital.

Funeral Services will be 1:00 pm Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at the Redby Community Center in Redby with Rev. George Ross officiating. A wake will begin on Monday afternoon at the Redby Community Center and will continue until the time of the service on Wednesday. The Cease Family Funeral Home of Bemidji assisted the family.

Clarence was born into the Bear Clan on June 20, 1949 at Red Lake, MN, the son of Clarence E.Bellanger and Ione Clark. He worked in the woods with Uncle Arnie Kingbird as a young boy. He was working at the Redby Sawmill when he got his draft papers. He served in the U.S. Army. He worked as a Taxi driver in Bemidji, Red Lake Fisheries for years. Clarence and his wife got their boat, motor and trailer and commercial fished for years with Bimbo Iceman. He worked for the Greenhouse in Redby and as a contractor for tree planting. He also worked for MNDOT in Bemidji and at Jambi and Barbara Westbrook’s store.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, working in the woods, going for rides, going to the casinos and visiting with family and friends. He especially enjoyed his grandchildren, playing dice, cribbage, dominoes, horseshoes and ice fishing. He was a loving son, brother, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, husband and friend.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years – Charlotte (Burke) Clark of Redby, Sons- Clarence Clark, Jr. of Redby, Brandon Clark of Missoula, MT, Leonard King of Redby, special sons- Edward Fisher of Bemidji and Christopher Clark of Redby, daughters- Natasha (Stephan Cloud) Clark of Redby, Barbara (Elijio) Ortiz of Redby, Rosalee (Patrick Greenleaf) King of Redby, Charlotte (Harlan Kingbird, Jr.) King of Redby, Sandi (Chad Sachs) King of Spicer, MN, special daughters- Jocelyn Oakgrove of Mpls., Salina Jones of Redby, Lolli Dolson of Red Lake, brothers- Robert, Louie, Alvin and Richard N. Clark of Redby, Daryl Clark of Cass Lake, sisters- Alberta Swinson of Oklee, MN, Margaret Purser of Washington, Rose Marie Clark of Bemidji, Marilyn Woodbridge of White Earth, special sister- Elaine Clark of Bemidji, Frances Raiford of Red Lake, Julia Desjarlais of Redby, Donna Spears of Redby, Joyce Howard of Mpls., Aunt Viola Kingbird of Red Lake, 24 grandchildren with 2 on the way, numerous great grandchildren and many cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, maternal grandparents William and Fanny (Kingbird) Clark. Brothers- Robert “Bobby” Clark, William “Sonny Boy” Clark, Everett Bellanger, son- Aaron Clark, nephew – Justin Kelly, special daughter- Nola Parkhurst, special friends- Dennis King, Calvin “Bimbo” Iceman, Maurice “Bubba” Stately, special sister- Dailene Hobson, Special grandson- Jason “Tim Bear” Coleman-May.

Active Casketbearers will be Stephan Cloud, Rich Clark, Clarence Clark, Jr., Waabooz Banks, Kyle Swinson, Harlan Kingbird, Jr. with alternates- Darrell Waybenais, Ted Graves, Patrick Greenleaf, Patrick Norquay, Leonard King and Corey Stately.
