Daniel Leroy Needham

Daniel Leroy Needham, 90 of Redby, MN died Saturday, May 11, 2013 at the Red Lake Hospital.

Funeral Services will be at 12:00 pm on Friday, May 24, 2013 at the Little Rock Center in Red Lake, MN. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Thursday, May 23, 2013 at the Cease Family Funeral Home in Bemidji and one hour prior to the service at the Little Rock Center.

He was born January 27, 1923 in Minneapolis, MN the son of Daniel and Jessie (Burnette) Needham. He attended school in Redby and moved with his family to the west side of the reservation to farm. He enlisted in the US Air Force and served during WWII. After his discharge he moved back to the area and married Juleen Spears in 1951. He worked for the Forestry Department. He enjoyed hunting, trapping and fishing. He also enjoyed being a traditional dancer and attended pow-wows.

He is survived by his son, Patrick Needham of Gilbert, AZ and daughter Judy Needham of Redby; 2 grandsons Patrick and Teyna and granddaughter Anna.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Juleen, brother Edward James Needham and infant sister Catherine Needham.
