Red Lake Blockade Spiritual Run from Ponemah to Leonard, MN
Hosted by First Nations United and Idle No More-Minnesota, there was a Red Lake Blockade Spiritual Run on Wednesday, May 8, 2013, and was for Mother Earth and to help bring attention and support for the Red Lake blockade, which is currently blocking Embridge tar sands pipeline from having an easement on Red Lake ceded land.
The run started in Ponemah, MN at the point and runners ran through all four districts, before making their way to Leonard, Minnesota.
A feast was planned once the run ended back at the Red Lake blockade site.
The group has stated that Enbridge has been on Red Lake land since 1949 with Line #1. Sixty-Four years ago, 3 more lines were built. No Easement was ever signed on this land, so Enbridge has been operating 4 pipelines illegally for 64 years.
