Red Lake Students Compete at MN State History Day

Red Lake Students Compete at MN State History Day

Students from the Red Lake High School and Red Lake Middle School competed in the Minnesota State History Day event at the University of Minnesota in St. Paul on May 4th. The students were judged on self-selected history projects. The students had advanced through a school competition and a Regional judging. High School students Jaylyn Isham and Brenna Pemberton made the final round judging in the Senior Division and were awarded a Honorable Mention for their project on The American Indian Movement.

Also competing in the Junior Division were Rob Beaulieu with a project on the Iran Hostage Crisis, Samantha Roy and Grave White with an exhibit on the Dawes Act, Violet May with a project on AIM and Daruin Cadwell and Vivianna Castillo with an exhibit on the Navajo Code Talkers.
